I love retro gaming! Back during the 16 bit era, I actually jumped on the Sega bandwagon at first but eventually the SNES won me over
IMO it’s the best console ever made!

June 9, 2020 at 6:41 pm #156306While I was very young when the SNES and Sega were duking it out, I have always appreciated that most of the franchises we have today started there. I still think the N64 had the best collection of games but Super Nintendo is awesome.

super mario all stars was one of my favorites it had all the original NES Mario games on there, I was a hardcore player of Super Mario 3, which I also got as a birthday present in 1990
June 11, 2020 at 2:46 pm #157838My brother had a Megadrive and I had the SNES so we had the best of both worlds back in the early 90s, although I think the SNES was played more. I really loved my SNES and still play it to this day.
June 12, 2020 at 8:09 am #158422I had an SNES and a Genesis, but my mom forced me one day to give one of the consoles plus games to my cousins. I had to choose which one I wanted more. I went with SNES and have never regretted that choice. I was not even into RPGs back then, but the DKC series and Super Metroid sealed the deal.

SNES is definitely the best of that generation. I did love the crunchy Sega Genesis music, but even the Super Nintendo had some great tracks. Turtles in Time was just an all time classic too.
June 12, 2020 at 5:51 pm #158701SNES was my 1st own home console, before I had a Gameboy and a C64, and as my very 1st gaming experience a Pong clone. Christmas 1994 getting the SNES More Fun Set (a SNES with Super Game Boy and Mario World) and a Dino Megazord (I was a huge Power Rangers fanatic back then) was the best christmas I ever had.
That SNES I eventually sold when my brother had his own and I got the N64, but years later in trade school a classmate was going to sell his and a bunch of games, that SNES still own and my game collection for it has reached the 100 this year.

June 13, 2020 at 9:34 am #159754SNES was the very first console I ever played, with Super Mario World being the very first game I can remember playing. Had very fond memories of olaying it, along with other games like Spuer Mario All Stars, and Donkey Kong Country (even if I couldn’t get too far in it lol).

June 14, 2020 at 5:19 am #161024I too started with a Genesis in the 16-bit era, even bought it with my own little kid money. I never regretted that, because it lead to me to the Sega-CD and its’ hidden gems. Lunar: The Silver Star, thank you very much.
But the SNES was king back then. It won because of a superior library and countless memorable games. I’m not a retro gamer, so I do not regret ebaying mine along with my SNES library back in 1999.
Well…I do regret giving up my copy of Chrono Trigger. That was a lot of New Game+ work to lose. I was at the point where I could play through the whole game in a night, because I felt like reading one of my favorite interactive books, heh.
