Hey Fellow Gamers!
Just curious, any of you into Board Games?
Our family have a decent collection growing and I’m always on the lookout for new recommendations. Feel free to add your favorite game to this thread!
A friend and husband of my mrs are into board games a big way and I never knew the amount of decent board games that are out there now until I saw their collection!
I’ve found a few to play online: Onirim, Ticket to Ride etc.
But when it comes to board games, then it’s Backgammon for me :)
I used to play them a lot and I still have a deep appreciation for them!
Yes, I am into board games. Monopoly is my favorite board currently. I also used to play the classic Uncle Wiggly and Candy Land board games as a child. This is a great forum to have. Thanks for the suggestion.
Got a giant collection. One of my personal favorites is Bloodrage.
I play Monopoly on PS4; it’s nice not having to manually count out the money.
Haven’t heard of that one. Will check it out.
The version I have is called “Hasbro Family Fun Pack Conquest Edition – PlayStation 4”
It includes RISK Urban Assault, Battleship, Monopoly Plus and Scrabble.
Need to check that out.
Axis & Allies, Diplomacy, Risk, Monopoly, Clue… yes, please!
I think Talisman was the last board game I played. Players compete to move through a fantasy realm to capture the Crown of Command and thus eliminate their opponents. Players each take on a character such as dwarf, elf, halfling, templar, thief and so on. Different versions of the game either came with cards to represent these with metal figures available separately or plastic figures included with the game. Dice rolls determine movement while cards are drawn to determine encounters.
That’s what got me into Games Workshops wargames at which point I moved away from board games.
It is currently on its fourth edition though I just played the second.
I recently picked up an old board game that a childhood friend of mine had and I love to play. It cost me $200 bucks for a copy in playable condition, but damn have I been loving the nostalgia binge since I got it. The game is called HeroQuest; and is essentially D&D light. I’m a sucker for miniatures with my board games; and this game comes with miniature everything; even a fireplace, and a torture rack.
OMG I loved Candy Land!
I loved the board game Sorry. I should pick that up next time I go to the store!!
I love them. I have quite a few from my childhood around still. My personal favorites are Heroquest, X-men: Crisis in the Danger Room and UBI. The first two games are similar in the way that they have full miniatures for the game pieces. Ubi is like trivial pursuit with a map and hexagonal glass device which in order to answer the question (which can be an historical event or geographical place/formation) you need to move the device over the hexagon on the map where the question is referring to. The real fun comes because you have to determine if the question being asked is referring to a real thing or is just a red herring. If that is the case you have to call it out as such or lose your turn. It’s a pretty difficult game but man does it make your mind work and is extremely fun if you love geography and history!
