Which do you prefer and why? I way prefer Blu-Rays over Netflix as the discs look and sound better as well as being able to own what I want and not have it taken down or replaced due to rights issues or censorship.

I love my physical collection. To look over at my shelf and seeing all my movies and games makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside. I own it and SJWs can’t touch it or take it away from me.

Do I have digital? Sure, because it came with my physical, so I took advantage of it and downloaded that copy on my iTunes. But I always buy physical first so I can hold it in my hands and know it’s mine.

Whenever possible, I prefer the physical.
I had a job in a video store after high school and I loved being surrounded by the physical medium of movie and video game boxes.

Physical.
All my “digital copies” are ripped from my own BDs and DVDs via MakeMKV, encoded via Handbrake, transferred to my Synology server, and presented in a Plex library.
1. Because the internet sometimes goes down.
2. Because ISPs often cap/limit bandwidth and one could end up paying to stream “their” digital copies over and over.
3. Because commercial digital copies are often short edited versions and lack special features.
4. Because sometimes a younger generation of fools decides to burn the past and tries to delete it.
EDIT: This thread is in the Movies forum so I replied in that context. However, regarding video games, all my games are physical copy also, with one exception: a digital version of the remastered Jak & Daxter game. All my music is either on CD or digital files purchased in WAV or AIFF format.

Physical! I grew up on VHSs, and will continue to love stearing at my VHS, DVD and BlueRay collection over any streaming library. I tend to only go for streaming if it’s excluesive to that and there are no Physical copies. Even when i download stuff, i still like burning them to disc

I’ll always be for physical media. Sure, there’s conveniences of digital ownership, but I never feel like I actually own something if it’s exclusively digital.
They’ve done nothing prove as of late the superiority of a physical format with altering the most pointless things.

Definitely physical. My movie/TV Show/Anime collection continues to grow in this way.
I mainly use digital as a way of previewing media to determine if it’s worth adding to my collection

Digital, I usually only watch things once, and for awhile there digital copies and Vudu credits were incredibly easy to acquire. That and Vudu had a glitch on their website where you could trick the Disc to Digital app into thinking dvd copies were blurays making conversions super f’n cheap. I raided the local library to pad out my collection.
I think Alien and Aliens are the only physical 4K movies I’ll buy whenever I get a new tv.

As much as I love streaming, just for the sake of my love of movies. I prefer physical collecting. And it’s been ages since I got anything physical of any kind.

Physical, then digital, no wait, physical , no wait DIGITAL. As a collector who has bought VHS, DVD, BluRay and now the occasional 4k? I sometimes get disheartened with ‘new SUPER releases’ after I’ve already bought a movie 17 times (case in point, the upcoming Jaws 4k release). But I now only collect what I class as top tier movies. I basically donated all my DVDs to a charity shop a few years ago (to clear room) and since then only pick up the odd BluRay or 4k movies.
However, now that we are seeing the beginning of true censorship on classic TVs and films? I really have started ‘acquiring’ digital copies of ORIGINAL release stuff that I like because eventually they will try and ban the entirely. After recently watching some butchered episodes of Scrubs and The Simpsons on TV? I went to *insert source here* and got the entire uncut collections of both.
