For one that’s no longer on the air: One life To Live. Victoria Lord is one of the greatest lead characters in the genre. Also Michael Easton was in the show and he has sci-fi street cred with Total Recall 2070 and Mutant X.
As for currently airing soaps: General Hospital. Jason Morgan is my favorite soap character ever. His portrayer Steve Burton played Cloud in Final Fantasy for 17 years before they recast everyone for the remake.

I never got into GH. But in the 80s my mom, sister and I would watch One Life to Live. Nothing was better than Vicky vs Dorian LOL

The Vicky and Dorian fights are legendary lol. The head of Daytime was actually talking about possibly bringing the show back earlier this year.
