A thread to discuss this classic SNES JRPG I first played this game on the DS and I still own it to this day along with the Steam version
That is a fantastic group pic. I love Akira Toriyama. Do you know where that comes from, ie. art book or special game packaging?
If any game or franchise deserves a modern day upgrade, it’s Trigger/Cross, especially Cross to make it make a fucking lick of sense.
I have a deep history playing these games, as well as using the IP in stories, because I had two people I worked with who had original characters that drew on CT/CC lore, especially Schala and Magus. So for years and years, I constantly dipped back into the franchise’s lore.
i’m glad to see a fellow fan of this incredible series the artwork is a picture I simply found online I actually have that picture on my wall
I first experienced the original SNES game. But it belonged to a friend of my older brother’s. The first time the game was really ‘mine’ was that PS1 port, which had some issues with load time and whatnot. (And Giga Gaia at Mt. Woe is wierdly jacked up in terms of stats in that version.)
DS remake/port is pretty solid, but it seems like the DS exclusive dungeons were specifically designed to have as much monotonous back and forth as was humanly comprehendable. The new fight with Dalton which addresses (albeit, rather sloppily) how Porre went from a random town in Trigger to a military power in Cross was somewhat nice, though.
Chrono is coming to Smash Ultimate as one of the remaining DLC characters. I’m calling it now.
I really hope so
I’d say he’s probably the biggest 90s gaming icon that’s not yet in the game. I’d really be surprised if he doesn’t make it.
