Tagged: Cobra Kai
I have been a fan of Cobra Kai since the day it premiered on YouTube Red 2 years ago. I found it refreshing, hilarious and nostalgic.
I have heard concerns that it would go “woke” in Netflix, which I don’t think it will.
But some have said that Season Two was already “woke”, something I strongly disagree with, but would like to know what specifically you guys may have found “woke” in Season Two?
Does it really matter if it’s woke or not if you’ve watched and like it?
Things aren’t woke half the time people whine about it anyway.
You do you, and don’t worry about what others think.
Oh I love it, easily among my Top 5 TV series.
But one of the main things I tell people to encourage them to watch it is that it is not Woke.
The show has dropping red pills like Johnny has been dropping roundhouse kicks.
season 1 was awesome.
season 2 was a mix. If you’re okay with a bunch of girl power scenes and “i’m not your girl anymore, i’m a lesbian now”, then you’ll probably still like season 2… and be ready for season 3 having even more of that.
I’m okay with a little bit of wokeness, because that’s the world we live now, it is what it is… but when it’s too much, I start to roll my eyes and I better stop wasting my time because I know where they going. Same happened to westworld, billions, game of thrones, etc. It’s not worth the time, because it’s only going to get worse. But we’re all different, we all have different tastes, it’s okay to enjoy different kind of shows. This is just my opinion, anyway.
I’m not watching season 3, I rather re-watch sopranos or the wire for the 6th time ;D
Cheers
Not to mention the only show using “pussy” as a general insult.
I have seen the series twice on YouTube, twice on Netflix… I can’t find the woke elements.
I mean watching Tory and Sam kick ass? No, not bothered. They are trained fighters.
As for a girl named “Moon” to be a hippie-ish type that likes chakras, believes in energy balance to be into guys and girls? Very possible, I did not see that as pushing an agenda, if anything it made Hawk mad and escalated his animosity towards Dimitri.
With all due respect, if these things really bother you? You miss out on the enjoyment of te series as a whole.
It didn’t bother me but those were signs that the show is changing, it’s not what we thought it was going to be after watching the amazing season 1. Season 1 was really anti-wokeness, I even couldn’t believe it, finally a show promoting “be a fucking man” and “stop being a pussy” , that was awesome.
And all of a sudden, season 2 was not like that anymore… was more focused on girl power and liberating etc… So yeah, I’m afraid it’s going to get worse, unfortunately. But if I’m wrong, I’ll be here waiting for you guys to tell me and I’ll be watching it then. ;) I’ve no problem with that.
Cheers
Fair enough, I will be there to tell you.
But Chozen is coming back, Ali is coming back, maye Terry Silver?
IMNSHO Season Two did not take away the “be a man” or “don´t be a pussy” mantras because iy had a few women who could fight, but it gave us a realistic conclusion of how far violence cam get inn real life. Tory{s off to juvie, Miguel is in the hospital, Robbie is now a fugitive maybe…
The show runners dared to go there.
“I did not call you a bitch, I said you were bitching at me.”
“Bitch.”
The show presents issues in a neutral way and lets the audience decide make up their own minds.
Like after season 2, Miyagi-do has no honor
Some theories suggest Samantha is the real antagonist, she causes most of the fights.
