The news @ noon Jan 10, 2021 –Evidently The Amazon Cloud service is booting Parler off. The CEO of
Parler wrote that to make sure everyone’s data is not *permanently* lost from the net, he has a lot
of work to do before midnight Jan 10. My Parler is still up. If you have anything on Parler you want
to backup, screen shots seem the way–I see no way to download stuff from your feed.Do any of you have a way to directly backup what you have written on Parler? Even if they save the
data, they still need to find cloud storage hosting to be functional, so they could be down for a good
while. OTOH, the account I have at slug.com social media seems OK for now. Do any of you know who
owns slug?–let

Control the media, control information, and you control the masses.
Both the nazis and the soviets burned books and information they disagreed with/went against the narrative/propaganda.
That is exactly what the left and cancel culture (talk about ironic name) is doing right now.
I have to wonder if they also looked at hosts outside of the US?

This is a lesson for all of us. For myself, I think that Amazon really chomped a toenail off. We will no longer look “to the cloud” for magnificent answers, to solve all of our resource issues, forever endless storage. We are now back in reality. We are grounded. If the desire is to build an internet application, then either multi-platform it, or create it yourself.
I agree with the other folks here. This is a Communistic-Fascism approach to do things. Why are they doing this? Because it worked in THEIR country.
I doubt it will work here.
Just look at all of the alternatives that have sprouted up. 90% of these sites I never knew existed. I now have accounts on several of them — all in a matter of HOURS.
Expect them to become more hostile. They are watching, in real time, their entire business implode as all of us leave. How are you going to explain that to the boss?

Parler may be down again. My bookmark isnt working today. Even just typing in the name doesnt bring up the site. Can anyone access it or is it just my potato computer.
It did bring up some truely stupid articles written by Jef Bozos goons that Parler is hiding their list of owners from Foogle.
There is no reason for Foogle to know anything. Fuck their wants.
