Twitter loses $5 billion in market value
Twitter’s stock price tumbled as much as 12% on Monday, erasing $5 billion from its market capitalization.
The tumble followed the social-media group’s permanent suspension of President Donald Trump’s account on Friday.
Censorship.
Trump, who had about 88 million followers, generated enormous publicity for the platform..
So you want to bite the hand that gave you such growth?
Twitter’s bosses suspended Trump’s account – which had about 88 million followers – after the world leader’s fanning of conspiracy theories about voter fraud and election theft…
They are more factual than the lies of the legacy media. But then facts don’t matter unless they can ONLY be used to forward your agenda.
Twitter stock likely fell because investors are worried the Trump ban will erode interest in the platform and lead to boycotts among those who see the decision as politically motivated and a way to silence a major conservative voice.
Well DUH!
But as we are seeing with parlor, the monopoly of the tech-overlords, parlor is not being allowed to operate because it is not censoring based on “THEIR” ideology.
So I agree with the call to “boycott”!

I never used Twitter…ever…so maybe I don’t understand its addiction, but why can’t people just walk away.
Imagine what it would be like if people just…left?
I know it’s a novel idea….but simply imagine what would happen if MILLIONS of people closed their accounts and walked away.

January 11, 2021 at 5:39 pm #204297I actually formally quit Twitter yesterday. The app is uninstalled from my phone and I’ve made my farewell post.
I would have done it sooner, my resentment for posting has been festuring for a while but had come to a head since about September of last year, but I did still enjoy interacting with my followers and mutuals, and getting gaming news by following the official accounts of Nintendo and Square-Enix and etc., but enough was enough.
And it wasn’t motivated by any politics in general, I mostly just talked about video games and whatnot. But I was tired of the vitriol and venom that site generates every single day. I didn’t want to end up becoming an overly pessimistic and unhappy person due to being in constant exposure to all that.
