I’ve been a fan of GMVs for a while and thought this would be a good place to share some I enjoy.
Putting the time and effort to edit a fan made music video that, usually, less than 5000 people will ever see is a sign of a true fan (most GMVs dont have many views) and, of made well, can be really fun watches and, in some ways, serve as a good way to advertise a game to someone that is undecided on it.
If anyone else happens to enjoy the art form, share some of your favorites.
Song: Roses On My Grave
Artist: Papa Roach
There is one gaming music video above all
I, unironically, like that song. haha.
Never played Crysis though. Never interested me.
And I unironically like this video, it’s just so well made, the lipsync and the moves, the camera work. Either cryengine sandbox is very easy to use or the guy who made it was very good.
Song: I Remember
Artist: Tristam
Video Game: NieR: Automata
I’ve made a couple of GMVs based on Monster Hunter World. Here’s one based on ACDC’s Thunderstruck. I had to use a cover version by The Iron Cross, due to content ID blocking ACDC’s version worldwide. But I think the female singer / female character combo worked out better.
A lot of people in the Monster Hunter Community really dislike a character called “The Handler”. She gets a lot of (In my opinion) unwarranted hate. So, I made this video as a sort of tribute to her.
It features Hootie and the Blowfish’s “Hold My Hand” but, again, thanks to content ID I had to use a live version instead of the studio version.
