Geeks + Gamers › Forums › Entertainment › Music › Can someone please tell me what I did wrong?
I spent a good amount of time crafting a new topic under the music section about musician Jeff Healey. I posted it and then had to edit it several times to correct mistakes I made. It was here. I saw it but it isn’t any longer. When you click on entertainment it shows I posted something recently. When I place the cursor over that it shows the title but when I click on it it says its spam. I had one embedded YT link in it and three YT URL links to music videos. Is that what did it? I still have no idea what I’m doing on here or really how things work. I’ve seen other posts recently that did similar things but they are still here. Is there any way to recover that post and take the links out? I’d be glad to do that if its an option.
Thanks.
There are two old forum quirks you unintentionally triggered.
1) The Forum doesn’t like it if you go back and rapidly make edits to a post one right after the other. Do that, and it deletes a post for some reason.
2) If you overload a post with links and embedded videos, it will also self delete.
These are simple old kinks in the system. You did nothing wrong.
Doing quick edits and the forum thinks it is SPAM, and gets deleted.
What I have had to do in the past is wait a minute or two before doing an edit.
View/reply to another thread before going back and edit your post.
Ah ok. I wasn’t aware of those quirks but I will keep those in mind for future posts. Thanks so much for your help.
Guess I’ll just have to rewrite the post and try again.
Thanks again.
