I don’t know how to feel about this. J.K. Rowling’s political tirades and recent Harry Potter-adjacent content haven’t been good for the franchise. That being said, I still love the main book series and like most of the movies. It’s pretty cool to think about how long Harry Potter has been in the pop culture stratosphere. I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t curious to see what some of the actors have to say and how/if they plan to address the recent controversies. I didn’t see Rowling’s name in the trailer, and I think it would be best not to talk politics at all in something like this. I do wonder if she was invited, though. Regardless of her politics (and inability to stop spouting off about it), Harry Potter is her baby. It feels like she should be part of it. But in conjunction with her name being left out of the next Fantastic Beasts movie’s trailer, I’m beginning to think Warner Bros. wants to distance the brand from its creator. I’m not sure if I’ll watch the reunion. It doesn’t instantly inspire excitement in me, but I don’t get excited about Harry Potter these days anyway.

Huge Harry Potter fan and I without getting too political, I can’t stand the harassment Rowling suffered from everyone for just expressing her opinions (and in a very respectful way!) I stand with her (like I stand with Gina Carano) and the hate online she gets is simply unacceptable.
