Can I just say Photocopy of the last review?
Really another “Meh” episode.
I wish there was a lot to discuss, but in this episode we have more of “The King must remarry” And when he finally does announce who, no viewer will be shocked. Honestly from the look on the actors faces neither were they.
We also got more of Daemon bad, Why couldn’t we just got his story as it is the only one so far that is interesting or fun. But anyways Who did not see the princess coming in to save the day? Like Otto two Kings Guard and 20 house Guards could go to Dragonstone and take on a Targaryen and his Adult Dragon, lol.
Now the CGI when the Princess came in to save the day did not look right as she dismounted, something HBO usually does well was not so good in that scene. I must point out they brought up Vhagar and made point they had not clue where Vhagar was. Yes we do.
I just cannot get in to this series, it is predictable and with the exception of scenes with Daemon in it, its very forgettable, nothing makes me say I want to re-watch either of the first two episodes.
August 29, 2022 at 11:22 pm #279958I knew the king would choose that girl. The seeds were planet by the hand, the father, to get it to happen in the first place. The king didn’t want to marry a child, and I don’t blame him. Besides, the girl he chose is very pretty, so why not? “shrug”
The CGI looks 10 times better than anything Marvel has done in a while. It looks better than Rings of Power trailers.
I enjoy the political intrigue. People are trying to say it has a feminist undertone, but really, I disagree. The stuff happening with women used to happen. It is pretty accurate in the style of story imo.

August 30, 2022 at 6:14 am #279963Now I have to disagree with your on the First Episode of GOT, It was a very well done episode and one I can still remember today, heck had it not been for the last 4 seasons and really how bad the ending was I probably would watch it again. But 2 weeks out I cannot even tell you much about the first EP of HOTD.
CGI I am referring to one specific scene, well two, both dealing with her and her dragon. But I agree it is still better than most for the most part.
I also agree about the Feminist undertones, but let me take it a different route, I know the lore for The Dance of the Dragons and to be blunt. NO SHIT PEOPLE a Woman was to be ruler and many people did not like that. Of course there will be “feminist undertones” or should I say the story of one woman and all the manipulations to prevent her from being the Queen of the Realm. I swear some people look for Woke politics and agenda in everything. But when you have show runners and actors opening their cock-holsters with the message, it makes it worse. We all know by now how George writes (when he does) and this is part of his world.
I could enjoy it much more if they (real people in it or part of it) would just shut the fuck up about “the message” talk about the product, the story, the real history from where it came. They might find more people won over. Still would not get me to give this EP better than a 3.5 or 4. Because its just “Meh” at best.
There really is not political intrigue to me in this. It was 100% clear from the first Episode the King would marry her, had they taken the rest of season 1 and built a bond and relationship with her and had many houses in play, keeping us wondering it would have been far better. But this shit was rushed and seen from the Pegasus Galaxy coming.
