We now know Disney+’s release schedule for The Bad Batch season 2. Unlike season 1, this installment will have three 2-part episodes released together. Disney+ is no stranger to releasing two or even three episodes at premiere, but this is the service’s first two-part finale release. Check out the schedule below:
January 4 — Episode 201, “Spoils of War,” & Episode 202, “Ruins of War”
January 11 — Episode 203 “The Solitary Clone”
January 18 — Episode 204 “Faster”
January 25 — Episode 205 “Entombed”
February 1 — Episode 206 “Tribe”
February 8 — Episode 207, “The Clone Conspiracy,” & Episode 208, “Truth and Consequences”
February 15 — Episode 209, “The Crossing”
February 22 — Episode 210 “Retrieval”
March 1 — Episode 211 “Metamorphosis”
March 8 — Episode 212 “The Outpost”
March 15 — Episode 213 “Pabu”
March 22 — Episode 214 “Tipping Point”
March 29 — Episode 215, “The Summit,” & Episode 216, “Plan 99”
I’m somewhat surprised by this decision to bundle episodes together, but it’s a good surprise. I hope this means they’re going to have more story arcs in coming seasons. Season 1 was full of filler and one-off episodes, and while they’re mostly good, I prefer the arc structure of later Clone Wars seasons. As much as I enjoy Rebels and season 1 of The Bad Batch, both shows would have benefited from more flexibility in the storytelling. 22 minutes without commercials isn’t much time to tell a satisfying, self-contained story.
Anyway, I’m excited to finally know more about the coming season. I really liked season 1 despite its flaws and have eagerly waited for more. I’m frustrated that The Bad Batch was repeatedly shuffled, likely to accommodate releases like Obi-Wan Kenobi and Andor. But it’s finally coming, and I can’t wait.
