Slayers X: Terminal Aftermath: Vengence of the Slayer.

Just got this old school FPS game for PC. The reason the name sounds ridiculous is because there’s a meta-narrative for the game that the guy selling it designed it in his notebook when he was 16. They go all in on that joke. One of the bad guys is his manager at the local Dollar Shaver. The story is the kind of thing edgy kids would write in their mid teens. There are spelling errors like breaking a window giving you “glass sharts” They even have a Linkin’ Park inspired fake band for soundtrack. It looks like some guy’s Duke Nukem 3D maps, and plays like a pretty good version of the same.  It’s pretty fun, and the joke is actually pretty earnest and actually fun. It’s not like “look how dumb young males used to be,” but more like “remember when your super hero fantasies involved your own small home town mixed with comics?”  It’s currently got a demo on Steam I believe (I buy on the Xbox app).  Your mileage may vary, but I’m having a lot of fun with it.
