Ahsoka Merchandise Reserved for Disney+ Subscribers
Disney has revealed that it will offer Ahsoka merchandise exclusively to Disney+ subscribers from the show’s launch on August 23rd to the 31st. The items, including a lightsaber set and apparel, will be available on shopdisney.com; after that window, everyone will have access.
When I saw the headlines, I was appalled, as they didn’t indicate that this exclusivity would only last about a week and a half. It’s actually not a big deal, I think. It makes sense to prioritize subscribers for a short period of time, and you would think most people who like the show that much would be watching it. This is, ultimately, just a marketing ploy.
