74-year-old model builder Christine Overs is suing Sandcastle Pictures, Disney’s production company behind the Little Mermaid remake. Overs worked on the beach scenes for the film, and Sandcastle’s negligence led to her falling on a makeshift step while working in 2020. Overs’ lawyers state that the ensuing wrist injury has caused “ongoing wrist pain” and a “substantial level of disability.” Although Overs is still working, the injury has created hardship in her work, and she can’t steady her hand. She has had five steel pins inserted and a fixator placed up to her elbow. Sandcastle accepts responsibility for the fall but doesn’t agree with her requested pay-out of £151,000 ($191,000).
Can Disney get any more evil and slimy? I don’t understand accepting blame for the incident but quibbling over the money. This woman works with her hands, and now one of them is irreparably damaged. $190,000 isn’t that much for a company like Disney. I truly don’t understand why they don’t just take care of this lady if they’re admitting they caused the accident.

Disney is holding onto every penny they can while their value continues to drop.
