Netflix Orders Castlevania: Nocturne Season 2

A week after its premiere, Netflix has renewed Castlevania: Nocturne for season 2. Based on the long-running video game franchise, the sequel series is set 300 years after the original Castlevania show and takes place during the French Revolution. The showrunners gave the below comments, via Variety:

“Thanks to all of the ‘Castlevania’ fans old and new for the amazing response and support!” said series creator and co-showrunner Clive Bradley and co-showrunner Kevin Kolde. “We are excited to be able to bring you more ‘Castlevania: Nocturne’ and the next chapter in the rise of Richter Belmont.”

Sam and Adam Deats will return to write season 2. The inaugural season ended with the reveal of Alucard joining a fleeing Richter Belmont.

I thought Nocturne season 1 was just okay, so I’m not thrilled with this news, but the show could always improve. I think Castlevania’s first season is its weakest, so the same may be true here. I hope that’s the case, and I will watch the second season when it drops.
