Netflix Releases Live-Action Avatar First Look
Yesterday, Netflix released images from its upcoming Avatar: The Last Airbender live-action remake. Included were photos of Iroh (Paul Sun-Hyung Lee), Firelord Ozai (Daniel Dae Kim), Princess Azula (Elizabeth Yu), Commander Zhao (Ken Leung), and Prince Zuko (Dallas Liu). Check out the pics here:
I have to say, they look really good, for the most part. They may have gone too literal with Ozai for the headdress, which is funny because Azula looks nothing like her animated counterpart. I have no problems whatsoever with the other three, which is shocking me right now. I still have no faith in this project since Avatar creators Bryan Koneitzko and Dante DiMartino dropped out, but the costumes look great, and the casting has (mostly) been solid. I don’t think a live-action adaptation is a good idea or serves any purpose. Nonetheless, I can’t deny that effort has been put in here.
