Daisy Ridley Knows “Bits and Bobs” About Rey Movie

Daisy Ridley sat down with Deadline in their SXSW studio, where she discussed details of the Rey-centered Star Wars movie Lucasfilm announced last year. Years after the events of the sequel trilogy, Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy’s film will follow an older Rey and her students as they re-re-establish the Jedi Order. When asked what she knew about the film’s plot, Ridley offered this:

“Literally what I know is what was announced last year, I’m waiting to read a script.”

“I know bits and bobs. I know there’s an introduction of new characters.”

“I don’t know about previous characters,” she also stated, referencing possible returning characters like Finn (John Boyega) and Poe (Oscar Isaac).

It’s always funny when media outlets ask actors and other creatives for comment, and they can’t say anything. If anything is set in stone with the movie (which it may not be yet), Ridley could be under an airtight NDA, preventing her from revealing anything. In short, the interview amounts to nothing. I hate to sound like a broken record, but I don’t expect anything good or even alright from this movie. I don’t know anything about Obaid-Chinoy’s career, but I didn’t like the sequels or the character Rey. I’m sure I’ll watch it at some point as I feel obligated to do so, but I wish they weren’t doing this.
