The Supreme Court Is About an Inch Away from Legalizing Bribery

…on April 15, the Court will hear the case of Snyder v. United States, in which James Snyder, the mayor of Portage, Indiana, was convicted for accepting $13,000 from Great Lakes Peterbilt, a company to which he’d granted two contracts with the city for consulting work he never did. He was convicted of accepting a bribe, He has appealed his conviction all the way up the line.

Does this mean the SCOTUS will look at ALL “consulting work”?

Does this also mean politicians who, after they “retire” from politics, and giving HUGE “consulting” contracts and do little to no actual consulting?  Huge fees for being a “speaker” at an event?  A kickback?

Does this also means politicians who accept anything from a lobbyists or a lobby group as bribery (as it is in MOST of the world).

When is a political donate a donation or a bribe?

Lots of questions.  Lots of consequences.

Law and order has been nonexistent for a few years now.  At what point law is mailable and who it applies to is variable, then it does not exist.

You cannot defeat the lawless with law.

We are a hair away from all this going very sideways.  And yeah, might not seem like insanity is close but that tends to happen almost overnight.
