I have been insane busy at work but while I have not played much lately I HAVE bought a few new games on sale from Steam I am excited about.

      – TitanFall 2

      – Trepang 2 (I LOVED FEAR so I am playing this one today)

      – Siege of Centauri

I have my eye on Helldivers and Dragon’s Dogma 2

What are y’all having fun with?

I mostly play old stuff now.  I’m currently playing Majora’s Mask 3DS that I just got a used copy of, and am about to start Monster Hunter Tri (Wii) now that the community got it back online.

        Schweet!

I just got a used 3DS for my daughter.  Where can I find games for it?  I am having trouble tracking them down.

I’m not sure where most people get games. We are really lucky here and have a brick-and-mortar, local Mom and Pop used gaming shop here. I get my stuff pretty much exclusively from there, as I’m a shop-local guy when possible. 3DS stuff is still pretty easy to find anywhere people sell used, and I think there’s still a pretty good selection on Wal-Mart’s website actually.

Dude if you have a local shop for that, that friggen rocks!

          #316328

And best of all, buying only used stuff there means no money goes to these horrid companies during this time, but instead goes to the nice, normal family who owns the shop.  I’ll come back to buying some new stuff when they get back to not being woke.

You have to be careful about conflating companies you dislike with the people in them.  Sure, many of those people you might dislike.  But wishing loss of sales on a company is 100% find but you have to understand what you ask for.  People, many of whom are not bad or woke people, lose their jobs.  If the stock tanks the fat cats lose a lot of cash, but so do the retirement accounts of many people who are not board members.

I am not saying you are wrong about anything you said or what you are unhappy with, I am just saying understand what that means.

With that said, I love local shops.  I try to buy local whenever I can.

That argument has never held any water with me.  Every dollar given to, say, Activision, is a dollar not given to the local theatre company, or restaurant, or even hardware store. If I make a purchase from a massive, multi-national corporation, by definition I am not making a decision primarily based on the people I could be helping or by what is best for the world. I should be very unconcerned with if other people who help make indoctrination propaganda aimed at my children lose their jobs. I should be very hopeful they end up going to work somewhere that is not evil. However, my duty to worry about the underlings in Hell is pretty limited overall.

I am really enjoying Helldivers 2 on PS5.

Finishing up FF7 Remake on PS5 (the first one) so I can play the second one.

I play Honkai: Star Rail, Tower of Fantasy and Genshin Impact on my PS5 we all. Zenless Zone Zero is coming to PS5 too, and I can’t wait!

I’ll be playing Stellar Blade when it comes out as well. :)

Old and moderately old stuff for me as well because of the nostalgia. I also seem to be drawn to much simpler games because they’re relaxing.

It’s not an argument.  It’s an observation based on reality.

I could swap a few words in that sentence and if I told you a radical leftist said it, you would probably believe me and be somewhat up in arms about it.

If you are deciding whom is of value from afar, people you do not know anything about and painting them all the say way and casting them out you are doing exactly what the radical left does.

I am not saying anything other than understand the ramifications of what you wish for.  No different than I would tell the radical leftist who says end all fossil fuels now or someone (like myself) who believes mass deportations are needed in the US.  I know that is needed but I also understand the horror show that will end up being initially.

Yes!  I like things that are at least quasi chill.  Which is why I do not like BRs.  I bought PUBG when it first came out.  Played it maybe 3 times until I realized the tenseness made me kinda anxious so it was not fun for me.

Currently playing Persona 3 Reload and it’s an absolute banger. Have the second FFVII remake and a couple Like a Dragon (aka Yakuza) games in line next so I’m eating good in terms of games now for a long time

I would most certainly believe it, but I wouldn’t be up in arms about it. I don’t mind when people I often disagree with say something sensible.  I’m a localist anyway, not an an-cap or capitalist.  And I also 100% believe in cancelling companies that are evil, no problem.

Your statement just reminds me of the people around here who argued that somehow the Ottawa trucker protest was wrong because it clogged street and caused noise violations for the innocent families in the area. Yes, shunning and then having evil companies close will lay people off. Big deal. Lots of people in good industries that do good things end up laid off all the time. I fail to see how I have to think through the “ramifications” of not supporting evil.

Anyway, you can have the last word if you want. You started this topic specifically because Gamergate was depressing, and I side-tracked it. :)

No worries we can agree to disagree although I think we really agree with a very minor philosophical difference.

As for the trucker protest, since you mentioned it.  I was 100% behind that (I am in the US) and I donated money to them.  Got my info on many leftist mailing lists because of it.  Ironically, the hackers sold that list to the left and right.

I was not mentioning the ramifications for supporting evil.  That’s a weird way to twist it, I was saying just simply we must think through what we wish for.  I am not saying don’t do it, just fully understand it.  Many people tend to want to find the problem, run into the room it’s in and punch it in the face to stop it.  It’s rarely that simple.

But, to your point sir!  Back to games!

Anyone else here played “Children of Morta”?  Best Indie game I ever played.  Not as swanky looking at Hades but I kinda like that!  Bad arse game.
