Variety exclusively reports that Steve Buscemi has joined the Netflix series Wednesday for an undisclosed role in season 2. Wednesday is created by Al Gough and Miles Millar, with Tim Burton directing and executive producing. Wednesday is based on The Addams Family, which began as a comic strip by Charles Addams and became a classic TV show, movies, a cartoon, and more. Jenna Ortega starred in the lead role in season 1, with Catherine Zeta-Jones and Luis Guzmán as her parents, Morticia and Gomez Addams, as well as Thora Birch and Christina Ricci (who played the title character in the two 90s film adaptations, The Addams Family and Addams Family Values) in supporting roles. Nothing more is known about season 2 as of yet, though Ortega will, of course, return.
I only got around halfway through Wednesday before my mom spoiled the ending, and I lost interest. I mostly liked what I saw, though, and I like Steve Buscemi a lot. I’m sure he’ll do well in whatever part they have for him. Wednesday was a record-breaking title for Netflix back in 2022, so I’m only surprised they waited this long to make another season, strikes aside.
