I’m not surprised about this. For one thing, Inside Out was almost ten years ago, so it makes sense that the brand would make more money now. People who were kids when the first film came out are older now and may have their own disposable income to go see it. Depending on how old they were then, some have children now and want them to see the movie. This is also a sequel to a beloved movie, so it was bound to do relatively well. Incredibles 2 is Pixar’s highest-grossing movie of all time; that doesn’t make it the best or most deserving. Granted, I may be a little harsh here because I don’t want this movie. The first Inside Out didn’t warrant another movie to extend its story; it felt self-contained to me. But we could say that about a lot of movies, couldn’t we?
I will have a review of Inside Out 2 this weekend. Are you going to see the movie? Talk to us in the comments!
