In the lead-up to season 4 of The Boys, showrunner Eric Kripke announced via Twitter today that Amazon Prime’s adaptation of the comic book by Garth Ennis will end with season 5. He states this was always his plan, but he didn’t have the go-ahead to announce it until now. Season 4 of The Boys premieres this Friday. Check out his tweet here:
#TheBoys Season 4 Premiere Week is a good time to announce: Season 5 will be the Final Season! Always my plan, I just had to be cagey till I got the final OK from Vought. Thrilled to bring the story to a gory, epic, moist climax. Watch Season 4 in 2 DAYS, cause the end has begun! pic.twitter.com/3p7Wt4jGA6

I think five seasons is a good run, and I’m glad they have a set end for The Boys in mind. That’s much better than dragging a show on forever or having it end on something dissatisfying. Since we haven’t seen season 4 yet, I have no idea what to expect. I just hope it’s fun.
But what do you think? Let us know in the comments!
Ah so that’s why S4 so far has been utterly lame and boring, and stuffed with completely irrelevant political clichés.
Kripke just taking his final dump before checking out.
