Rotten Tomatoes Hides Acolyte Audience Score

In the latest bit of data manipulation to come to light, Rotten Tomatoes is trying to obfuscate the poor reception of The Acolyte. The current Disney+ Star Wars show has alienated fans by contradicting the story and even themes of Star Wars while failing to tell its own cohesive story. Now that it’s hard to defend the show, they just try to bury the evidence. Earlier today, Gary from Nerdrotic reported that the audience score for The Acolyte was not included when you searched for the show on Rotten Tomatoes, although the critics score was; you had to click the show’s link to see it. Check out Gary’s examples here:

I will say that when I looked for myself, I could see the audience score. It appears they may have re-enabled the feature without clicking the “see more” link:

Rotten Tomatoes Acolyte

This is pathetic, plain and simple. First, Rotten Tomatoes tries to hide the receipts; then, presumably, they backpedal when people complain. I don’t think anything could save this show’s reputation, not even hiding public opinion. But watching people try is very funny.

But what do you think? Let us know in the comments!

The name “Rotten Tomatoes” connects to the practice of audiences throwing rotten tomatoes in disapproval of a poor stage performance.
It is such a great concept for a brand name.
This is just a great historical lesson in corruption and gas-lighting. Anytime conditions are bribed, bought and paid for, so that the corporate voice is louder than the people’s voice, you will see the decline of an edgy and creative platform. This can already be said about the entire network media and the commercial ad industry. I heard the same thing happened to Yelp.
It’s too bad because the site has a great name. If anything, it makes you realize just how many awful movies and shows and programming have been made.
