This weekend was the first-ever D23 held in Brasil, and it brought some updates and clips from upcoming Disney, Pixar, Marvel, and Star Wars projects.
An exclusive Andor trailer was shown to attendees. It isn’t available online, but we do have a season 2 premiere date of April 22nd, 2025. They also provided a new logo for the show:
And you can see B2EMO (BEE) at the event here:
Season 1 of Andor explored Cassian’s life and followed several other characters five years prior to the events of Rogue One. Season 2 will close the gap, checking in on our heroes for the remaining four years.
Convention attendees were also treated to an exclusive scene from Skeleton Crew, which premieres December 3rd on Disney+.
Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni appeared in a video message from the set of The Mandalorian and Grogu to share a sizzle reel. It sounds like the same one from D23 Anaheim, showing snow troopers, Grogu with the Anzellans, Zeb in live-action, etc. This clip was also not released online.
Ice Age 6 was announced, accompanied by a brief video featuring Ray Romano, Queen Latifah, and John Leguizamo. To the shock and dismay of all, this was also not released online.
Director Barry Jenkins shared story details for Mufasa before a brand-new trailer was shown. A live dance routine for “The Circle of Life” was performed by Brazilian performer Carlos Junior, aka Ca Ju, and others. Check out the final trailer for Mufasa, which opens December 20th, below:
Rachel Zegler appeared in another video to give fans a shout-out and introduce an exclusive trailer for Snow White. The film bows on March 25th, 2025.
A new image of Stitch from the Lilo and Stitch remake was shared. The film hits theaters on May 23rd, 2025.
Jared Leto was featured in yet another video to share a special look at Tron: Ares. The film comes to theaters on October 10th, 2025, and here’s the story:
“Tron: Ares follows a highly sophisticated Program, Ares, who is sent from the digital world into the real world on a dangerous mission, marking humankind’s first encounter with A.I. beings.”
Brazilian superstar Any Gabrielly, the voice of Moana in the Brazilian dub, performed “Beyond” from Moana 2. Auli’i Cravalho and Dwayne Johnson introduced an exclusive look at the sequel, which premieres November 27th in theaters.
Jared Bush shared a video greeting from Shakira, who will reprise her role as Gazelle in Zootopia 2. This film heads to theaters in November 2025.
A special look at Inside Out spinoff Dream Productions, as well as the first episode, were shared. All four episodes of this limited series will be available on Disney+ on December 11th.
A special look at Win or Lose was played. This show premieres on Disney+ on February 19th, 2025. An exclusive trailer for Elio, opening June 13th, 2025, was shown as well.
Attendees saw a special piece about Hoppers, a movie starring “Mabel, an animal lover who seizes an opportunity to use new technology to ‘hop’ her consciousness into a life-like robotic beaver.” They were also reminded that Toy Story 5 and The Incredibles 3 unfortunately exist. Nothing was shared from these projects.
Aside from Andor getting a hard release date and a super-secret Skeleton Crew clip being played, this sounds a lot like the Anaheim D23 from earlier this year. It’s cool that the convention is expanding outside the country, but they could have thrown these people more of a bone. They paid to attend a convention, and I’m not sure two bits of news and a couple of new images justify that. Regardless, this makes the showcase easy to report on. None of the live-action projects look or sound good to me, but I’ve said this many times before. The only Pixar properties I have any real hope for are Hoppers and Win or Lose because they are original. Elio just isn’t grabbing me for some reason, and the sequels speak for themselves; I’m good. I’m excited for Andor, though; they better not mess that up.
But what do you think about any of the announcements and clips? Let us know in the comments below!
