Elon Musk Creating AI Video Game Studio
Elon Musk has set his sights on a new aspect of society to liberate: gaming. Musk is the innovative billionaire owner of Tesla and SpaceX who bought the censorious social media platform Twitter in 2022 and rebranded it “X,” with an emphasis on free speech; during this year’s Presidential election, he got involved in politics, campaigning for the eventual winner, President Donald Trump. He’s also set to head up the coming Department of Government Efficiency with fellow businessman Vivek Ramaswamy under Trump’s administration. (I know you know this stuff, but Thanksgiving is tomorrow, and I’m warming up.) What’s not as well known, or at least wasn’t until recently, is that Musk is also a gamer, having become the #1 Diablo 4 player in the world this month, according to Forbes.

Musk has also been a vocal opponent of what he dubbed “the woke mind virus,” accusing it of killing his son, who is now a transgender person. It’s no surprise that Musk has seen wokeness making its way into video games. And he’s recently been posting his distaste for it on X and speaking about it in public. In fact, at one event during his campaign for Trump, someone asked Musk about DEI in video games, and in addition to saying that DEI “kills the art” of video games and other aspects of entertainment, Musk talked about how using AI would “make incredible video games” and mentioned almost off-handedly that starting his own video game studio “would be a fun thing to do.”

I have no idea whether Musk had this cooking the whole time or just decided on a lark to try it (if the latter, thanks for asking him that question, random Trump supporter), but today, Musk announced that his AI company, xAI, is “going to start an AI game studio to make games great again!”

There’s no other information right now, but the idea of Elon Musk dabbling in video game innovation is exciting, particularly his use of AI. If you’ve seen the evolution of AI on X through the Grok feature, you’ll have noticed the massive leaps forward it has taken just in the last several months. It’s certainly not perfect yet, but it’s advancing rapidly, and the animated sheen it has lends itself to video game graphics. And Musk will almost certainly have a legion of game designers willing to help him develop his studio. For example, here’s Doug TenNapel, the creator of Earthworm Jim (if you weren’t around or old enough to realize in the 90s, Earthworm Jim was a very big deal):

Imagine Elon Musk organizing a bunch of disaffected video game designers with Doug TenNapel as their general and creating a real alternative to the increasingly woke mainstream video game industry while studios like Ubisoft and BioWare are in major trouble, largely because they went woke. This is how a culture is saved, at least partly: through art. It’s an area where I and many others have felt conservatives have dropped the ball because they look down on some of the popular art forms, like video games and comic books. As TenNapel said, lots of gamers lean to the right, and many more are sick and tired of the woke infiltration of their favorite pastime, but conservative leaders have been ignoring or flat-out mocking them instead of appealing to them. Musk is too smart for that, and his video game studio could be the beginning of the next big culture war win. Of course, it could just be that Musk wants to play some woke-free video games for a change, and if he has to make ‘em himself, he will.

Someone suggested he buy studios, too. Really, the uniparty are the ones responsible for the rise of Elon and Trump. Are Trump and Elon that great or is their competition that bad? I’ll never vote for a Bush/Clinton/Obama again. I’ve dropped TV. Cut the chord on that. Same with sports. Very few shows I like. I still go to some movies to get out of the house, but most suck. Gaming was the last hold out. Once the woke wrecked games, the Gamers, I truly think, the Gamers were the ones that swung the election and are responsible for the rise of X.
The woke leftards think they can mess with everyone, but once the ran into Gamers, they got run over. If Gamers get into politics or AI or production or anything, they will win because they know how to win. They know chess, checkers, poker, monopoly and all the other games.
That doesn’t even mention the autistic gamers. Those guys will make a game of beating and have fun while beating you and I think that’s what happened. Woke Corporate America already chose out. There is no reason for them to stay in business. Anyone who did biz with SweetBabyInc is going bust. I feel the same way about many things and it’s been too long and it’s just too late for them to change their woke ways. At this point, they just deserve to lose badly.
You also see it with media journalism. The networks are taking. There is no reason to give press passes to stations that get lower ratings than online streamers, so the idea of giving White House press corps passes to streamers and independents is valid if they have the numbers and the ratings.
Also, I think any tax money subsidies or breaks that have gone into gamers, programs, or press should be refunded because they failed too many times. If a 3 strikes law applied to the media, they’d be in jail already for Jussie Smollet, Kyle Rittenhouse, Bubba, Russian collusion, and a whole bunch of other flat out know lies and gaslighting.
