This rift over H1B is absolute politicized nonsense that the left prayed to Satan every night would happen.
I have worked in tech for almost 3 decades. I watched this transition over years where everything went overseas. It’s to the point now where I rarely speak to another tech person within the United States.
But Elon and Vivek are correct.
In the current paradigm you DO need H1B for the the tech sector. Why? Because the tech sector has been training people overseas for those jobs for 2 decades so places like India have a giant pool of trained folks while the US has mostly old guys like me left in tech.
However, the goal needs to be to shatter the paradigm. Stop outsourcing everything, stop training in other countries, train in the US. Let the economy out of it’s cage. But let’s not fool ourselves, that transition would take a little time.
As far as Vivek saying Americans are lazy. Within the young folks demographic, that is 100% correct. Clearly that does not mean everyone. But remember those videos of the Twitter employees who did little work and were pampered and coddled that we all laughed at? That’s much of what’s out there. So Vivek is absolutely correct.
I always here people say, “don’t judge”. That’s self destructive nonsense. We should judge ourselves and others so we can recognize where we are weak so we can improve and evolve ourselves and others. Without that introspection, nothing gets better.
H1B is absolutely abused and has been for decades. But there is an infrastructure around it to facilitate it. We must shatter that infrastructure and rebuild it in the US.
Stop fighting over nothing. Stop doing what the left wants you to do.
I liked Vivek a ton. Sadly, his solution is just pro India and nothing for Americans. Agreed with his comments, too, except that he has no solutions other than to replace.
Same with Elon. Both have the same DEI diversity under new terminology. A big disappointment. Neither one of them is up to the merit standard of the industrialists who build America and left great systems in terms of schools, hospitals, bridges, libraries. What has today’s billionaire class offered traditional America? Just more India. Bummed cuz I like Vivek, Dinesh, Shiva, bunch of Indians that I like but it doesn’t matter because their solution is India only and any opposition they now came up with a term “Hinduphobic” which you will be seeing a lot.
Same old demographic replacement. Same shyster agenda.
Agreed with Vivek and wish he would talk even more about that. He is correct that distractions hinder performance, but the thing is that their is deliberate intent against westerns workers and students, regardless.
As for Elon, no one believes that he cares for British girls after he called them all “subtards.”
How much a westerner studies or how high scores are or aptitude or anything do not matter.
It’s policy. Vivek should at least acknowledge that.
