Much the same way he did for season 1, Jon Favreau has announced that he’s started work on The Mandalorian season 2 scripts. He will also be using some technology he’s used on The Jungle Book and The Lion King to pre-shoot some scenes. Favreau has always described what joy this show brings him. Some outlets have referred to The Mandalorian as a limited series, a somewhat nebulous term in this day and age. It’s nice to have some confirmation that this is most definitely not the end of the road for the newest Star Wars characters.
Thanks to Jon Favreau’s work on the aforementioned Disney remakes, shooting these television iterations of the galaxy far, far away will be done more efficiently. This is something that becomes more and more important as Hollywood continues to invest in spectacle, with The Mandalorian reportedly costing roughly $15 million an episode. As a longtime fan of both the franchise and the director, it’s excellent to know that despite Favreau’s feature success, he’s still committed to doing right by the Star Wars franchise.
Are you excited to hear that season 2 of The Mandalorian is underway or do you think Jon Favreau should wait and see how the first season is received before he plans for more? Let us know in the comments and stay tuned to Geeks + Gamers for more galactic news!
