It looks like Kerbal Space Program 2 won’t be ready to launch on its original release date of Spring 2020 and is being delayed a year until Spring 2021. During Take-Two Interactive’s Quarter 2 2020 earnings conference call on November 7th, they announced that “Kerbal Space Program 2, the sequel to the beloved original space sim, is now planned to launch for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One, in fiscal 2021, in order to allow more time to make the experience as terrific as possible.” This delay announcement is quite disappointing for the hardcore fans, who have been waiting for this game since its announcement in August 2019.
While it is a rather large delay for a game, I think that this was a wise decision on Take-Two Interactive’s part. I’d prefer that they delay Kerbal Space Program 2 and release it in the proper condition rather than release it sooner but incomplete. It will be worth the wait, especially with the new colony system that they plan to implement, which will add loads of content to the highly anticipated game.
What are your thoughts on Kerbal Space Program 2’s release delay? Will the sequel be worth the wait, or will the delay kill the hype that the announcement built up a few months ago? Let us know in the comments and stay tuned to Geeks + Gamers for more gaming news!
Considering their shady business practices, I’m leery to give any money to Take-Two. I do like Kerbal Space Program (I own it on the XBox) and hope that the sequel improves the vehicle construction mode. The current game has issues with building unless the camera is in the right angle and even then, parts won’t align and snap like they should.
