Adam Sandler, George Clooney Join Noah Baumbach Netflix Movie

Deadline exclusively reveals that George Clooney and Adam Sandler have signed on to appear in director Noah Baumbach’s latest project, an untitled Netflix film that is part of his exclusive deal with the streamer. Sandler previously starred in Baumbach’s The Meyerowitz Stories (New and Selected), also for Netflix. This untitled film will be George Clooney’s first appearance in a Baumbach-directed movie, but Baumbach co-wrote Wes Anderson’s animated film Fantastic Mr. Fox, in which Clooney starred. Baumbach wrote this new script with actress Emily Mortimer.

This should be good. The Meyerowitz Stories is awesome, and I really liked While Were Young as well. Fantastic Mr. Fox is a lot of fun, and I didn’t know Noah Baumbach contributed to it until now. The only thing I disliked from him is Barbie, which he co-wrote with director (and his wife) Greta Gerwig. Marriage Story isn’t my favorite movie ever, but I can’t argue it isn’t well-made. I hope we learn more about this new project soon.
