All Seven “Harry Potter” Books Gets New Audiobook Series

Potterheads rejoice! It’s been announced that a brand new audiobook series of ALL seven Potter books is set to release in late 2025 through Amazon’s Audible and Pottermore Publishing, the global digital publisher of J.K. Rowling’s Wizarding World sequentially for global audiences exclusively on Audible. Included in this new series are more than 100 voice actors, a musical score, real-world sound capture, and high-quality sound design through Dolby Atmos.

For those who may be wondering, fret not: the original single-voice English Harry Potter audiobooks featuring Jim Dale and Stephen Fry will continue to be available. Since the launch of both on Audible in 2015, the series has reached a total of 1.4 billion total listening hours globally. This project is unrelated to the eight Warner Bros. films and the Max television series currently in the works. Further details about these audiobooks will be released later, including voice casts, content, and production, as well as an exact release date. Pottermore Publishing chairman Neil Blair had this to say about the project:

“We are delighted to be collaborating with Audible on what will be a ground-breaking audio edition of the beloved Harry Potter stories,” he said.

“J.K. Rowling’s storytelling lends itself perfectly to the application of new audiobook technologies, and we’re certain this sophisticated, immersive audio experience will not only add a new listening dimension for existing fans but will introduce a whole new generation of listeners to the wizarding world.”

It has been seventeen full years since the final installment of the novels was released and thirteen years since the eighth and final film, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part Two. Fans have been wanting more of the Wizarding World for years, and with the lackluster response to the Fantastic Beasts series, anything of worth regarding the beloved boy wizard will be devoured by loyal fans, even the television series reboot. As many long-time fans know, the desire to have a story set during the Marauder’s Era has always been hoped for, though as Rowling herself stated in the documentary A Year in the Life that she has no plans of writing any new Wizarding World books. However, if you’re one who loves the world of gritty crime novels (such as myself), her current books, the Cormoran Strike series, written under the pseudonym Robert Galbraith, are brilliant and have a successful television series as well. The eighth installment, The Hallmarked Man, is still in the works.

So, as we await further details on the new Harry Potter audiobooks, let us hope this project will continue to attract new fans and bring back the old to the beloved series, who will pass it on to other generations to enjoy for many more years to come.
