On Tuesday, July 27th, American Horror Story co-creator Ryan Murphy Tweeted a poster for the upcoming season, “Double Feature,” along with a release date of August 25th. FX has also released a teaser for the season showing an alien and some type of aquatic monster, first in their respective surroundings and then facing off. Returning cast members to the series include Kathy Bates, Sarah Paulson, Leslie Grossman, Evan Peters, Lily Rabe, Finn Wittrock, and more. Kaia Gerber (American Horror Stories), Macaulay Culkin, and Neal McDonough will be joining the cast for “Double Feature.” Check out the new poster and teaser below:
I never really know what to make of the teasers for new seasons of American Horror Story because they reveal so little. I think that’s a good thing; I hate trailers that spoil the experience of a movie or show. The alien and siren creatures are visually appealing and distinct, but usually, the show ends up being very different from the promos. I remember for the Apocalypse season (one of my favorites), the posters showed otherworldly humanoids with purple skin and long fingers. I do like the concept of having a season with two different stories, and it’s not something the show has tackled before. I’m also interested in seeing Kaia Gerber again. She was in the first two episodes of spin-off series American Horror Stories, and I liked her there. She’s also absolutely gorgeous, being the daughter of Cindy Crawford. However, I’m, of course, more excited to see the show’s core cast return, like Sarah Paulson and Evan Peters. I’m enjoying American Horror Stories so far, and I look forward to the return of the main series. It’s been a minute, mostly thanks to COVID.
