Bob Iger Orders Employees Back to Workplace

Just a couple of months after returning as Disney’s CEO, Bob Iger ordered hybrid employees to report to the physical office at least four days a week. Most similarly-sized companies require two or three days a week. This takes effect beginning on Monday, March 1st. Check out Iger’s email to staff here:

“As I’ve been meeting with teams throughout the company over the past few months, I’ve been reminded of the tremendous value in being together with the people you work with. As you’ve heard me say many times, creativity is the heart and soul of who we are and what we do at Disney. And in a creative business like ours, nothing can replace the ability to connect, observe, and create with peers that comes from being physically together, nor the opportunity to grow professionally by learning from leaders and mentors.”

This is only news because it’s Disney. I’m sure some employees will be displeased because this will greatly impact their commute in terms of time, gas costs, etc. But I also see why a company would want their workers in the office. This is a difficult issue, but I don’t think it will impact consumers much one way or another.

But what do you think? Drop us a comment below!
