Chloë Sevigny, Javier Bardem, and Nathan Lane Join Monster Season 2

According to Variety, Chloë Sevigny and Javier Bardem have signed on to season 2 of Ryan Murphy’s Monster. Season 1, featuring Evan Peters as Jeffrey Dahmer, was a big success for Netflix. Season 2 will focus on the Menéndez brothers, Lyle and Erik, who were convicted of killing their parents in the 90s. Sevigny and Bardem are set to play their parents, Kitty and José Menéndez. Additionally, Deadline reports that Nathan Lane has also joined the cast as Dominick Dunne, a reporter who covered the trial for Vanity Fair. They join Nicholas Alexander Chavez and Cooper Koch, who are playing Lyle and Erik Menéndez, respectively. Monster will reunite Sevigny and Ryan Murphy; Sevigny previously starred in the American Horror Story seasons Asylum and Hotel. Lane also worked with Murphy on American Crime Story: The People vs. O.J. Simpson, in which he played F. Lee Bailey, a member of Simpson’s legal “dream team.”

Menéndez Monster

This is wild to me because I recently heard a podcast about the Menéndez brothers. I liked season 1 of Monster quite a bit and look forward to the new season. Javier Bardem is excellent, and I only know Sevigny from American Horror Story, but I’ve never had a problem with a performance of hers. As for Nathan Lane, of course I liked him as the voice of Timon in The Lion King, and he was the only good thing about that awful Penny Dreadful spin-off, Penny Dreadful: City of Angels.
