A Hollywood Reporter exclusive reveals that Christopher Lloyd has been cast in The Mandalorian season 3. The particulars of his part are being kept under wraps, but it is apparently a guest role. Lloyd is famous for roles like Doc Brown in Back to the Future and Judge Doom in Who Framed Roger Rabbit? Season 3 of the wildly popular Star Wars spin-off The Mandalorian is currently in production in Southern California.
There’s not a lot to go on here, but I think it’s good news. I love Christopher Lloyd, and he recently showed that he still has it in Nobody. I would normally be disappointed that he’s only getting a small role (as far as we know). But in this case, it’s probably for the best; such a distinguished performer would likely be distracting as a mainstay on the show. It could even be cool to have him voice an alien character, a la Kuiil, voiced by Nick Nolte in season 1.

He was in an episode of NCIS a few years back, he was great in it!
