Dragon Age: The Veilguard may be in trouble. I know it’s hard to believe that a video game in a popular franchise that was developed by whacko activists and seems more concerned with establishing that one of the characters is “nonbinary” than in sending gamers on fun and exciting adventures isn’t selling like hot cakes, but that appears to be the case. In his newest video, Endymion says he has heard from his source that Dragon Age: The Veilguard only had between 70,000 and 75,000 pre-orders, a lower number than he previously heard, and that the game has sold “in the 500,000 range.” That’s less than many smaller games, like Black Myth: Wukong, which sold 10 million units in three days. Endymion mentions the games Metaphor: ReFantazio, which sold over 1 million copies on its first day, and Sonic X Shadow Generations, which did the same. On top of their superior sales, Black Myth: Wukong and Metaphor: ReFantazio cost much less to make than Dragon Age: The Veilguard and didn’t take nearly as long to produce. And considering it needs to sell between 4 and 5 million units to be profitable, according to Endymion, this is not good at all. Endymion also learned from his source that Dragon Age: The Veilguard has fallen short of its projected Steam concurrent player number of over 100,000 with an all-time peak of 89,418 concurrent players, and it’s doing even worse on EA’s subscription service, Origin, where it had around 20,000 players. Finally, Dragon Age: The Veilguard has apparently had around 30,000 refunds in the past three days. That indicates that too many people dislike the game for its numbers to get any better, making it unlikely to turn a profit. You can see Endymion’s video below:
I know the caveat is that Dragon Age: The Veilguard was in production before the huge woke backlash came to gaming, so they couldn’t have known what a disaster it would be to force in stuff about “nonbinary” ram monsters, pronouns, acts of contrition for assuming gender (seriously; they involve push-ups), optional gender-reassignment surgery scars, the option to have characters discuss the benefits of diversity, some of the racial themes Endymion talks about, and whatever other modern-day left-wing garbage that I’ll never know about because I’ll be damned if I play this thing. (To be fair, I haven’t played the other Dragon Age games either, but still, I wouldn’t pick this up if I were a mega-fan.) But come on, even if there wasn’t a spreadsheet or bar graph in the EA corporate offices, how delusional do you have to be to think anyone would embrace a game like that? Dragon Age: The Veilguard began development in 2015, which is about the time this woke stuff was kicking off in earnest (although I consider 2011 to be the starting point), but even then, I doubt anyone believed the infusion of modern-day gender politics was a good sell for a video game. Conceivably (though not very), Dragon Age: The Veilguard could pick up steam in the coming days and weeks, and sales and online play could turn around, but considering the number of refunds being requested, it seems pretty clear that this is the best it’ll get.
The more I play Dragon Age VEILGUARD the more thinly veiled the agenda is behind it. I’m currently on Chapter 10 & I swear to god every single villain so far for these companions are either men, white men or white women.
Even Lucanis has a villain in his story named Zara, you… pic.twitter.com/b6jYWkD9Fb

Now, if the world were normal, this would be yet another indication that the gaming industry – and the rest of the entertainment industry – needs to pull back on identity politics and woke content and start making games, movies, and what have you that people will enjoy. But the world is not normal, or, rather, some people in the world are not normal, and unfortunately, these people control much of the entertainment being produced in the West. The rest of Endymion’s video highlights the reactions of gaming bigwigs to the 2024 election, where Donald Trump was elected President again, and they’re about as unhinged as you probably think they are. These loons were unlikely to fix the problems in their industry under circumstances preferable to them, but now? They’ll probably go full bore into politics in some annoying attempt to speak “truth” to power. Well, good luck with that, weirdos, but keep in mind that there isn’t much money left in the till, thanks to the past few years of your woke performative art.
