A Variety exclusive reveals that Warner Bros. is toying with the idea of shuffling some of its major releases to next year. Dune 2, the remake of The Color Purple, and Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom are the titles in question. The decision is flexible and may depend on or be influenced by the actors’ strike, as these movies rely on red carpets and interviews with their casts to market them.
It makes sense to wait for the actors to actively promote the movies, especially in the case of Dune 2, which has a great cast. I didn’t necessarily see this coming, but it’s not shocking under the circumstances. The only downside I can see is disappointing fans anticipating the films.
What do you think? Should Warner Bros. delay these movies, and would it make any difference if they did?
