Variety reports that Euphoria season 3 will begin production in January of 2025, and the main cast will be returning. The HBO show has previously been delayed due to the 2023 writer’ and actors’ strikes, as well as creator Sam Levinson writing the show alone. Angus Cloud, who played Fezco, passed away in July of 2023 at the age of 25. However, the surviving main cast, including Zendaya, Hunter Schafer, Sydney Sweeney, Eric Dane, and more, are returning. Check out a statement from Francesca Orsi, executive vice president of HBO programming and head of HBO drama series and films, here:
“I am thrilled that we are ready to begin production on ‘Euphoria’ in January. We could not be happier with our creative partnership with Sam and this incredible cast. We look forward to bringing this new season of ‘Euphoria’ to life for the fans.”
I can’t wait for this. I’ve been so ready for more Euphoria since the season 2 finale. It’s really strange to think it’s been two years since then and that season 3 of the show will have a five-year time jump. It’s the right decision; it’s been a long wait between seasons, and the actors were adults before season 1 started. But it’s surreal nonetheless. I wonder how they’ll write Fez out of the story. Of course, the main thing is that someone lost their life, but I can’t help being sad because Fez became one of my favorites in season 2, and I was looking forward to the progression of his relationship with Lexi (Maude Apatow). Regardless, I’m excited to see where the story goes, and I’m glad they’re finally getting it in gear.
