When bullets fly through suit-wearing bad guys as strobe lights flash, it means another John Wick movie is on the way. Today, Lionsgate released the final trailer for John Wick: Chapter 4, the latest in the action series starring Keanu Reeves as one of the world’s deadliest assassins/animal lovers. John Wick: Chapter 4 finds Wick still fighting for his life against the mysterious assassin’s guild he once served, hoping to find a way to get them off his back permanently. Reeves is joined by returning players Ian McShane, Lance Reddick, and Laurence Fishburne, as well as newbies Bill Skarsgård, Hiroyuki Sanada, Clancy Brown, Donnie Yen, and Scott Adkins. Directed by Chad Stahleski, John Wick: Chapter 4 will arrive in theaters on March 24, 2023, and you can watch the final trailer below:
After Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, I need a reliable crowd-pleaser, and the John Wick movies are as close as it gets nowadays. John Wick: Chapter 4 looks like it’ll fit in with its predecessors, and the new trailer promises lots of bloody action and gangsters whispering “Baba Yaga.” A couple of new details are shown here, like Wick traveling back to the desert to face the old man who made him cut his finger off in the third one; if I recall correctly, this is the head of the High Table, the group who run the assassin’s guild, or at least one of the top guys. It seems like Wick is looking for some payback, which should be satisfying. And the dog at the end looks like one of Halle Berry’s; does that mean she’s back? I could be remembering that wrong, as I only saw John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum once. Everything they’ve shown looks great, and John Wick: Chapter 4 is one of the movies I’m most looking forward to seeing in the near future, and maybe all year.
