Netflix dropped its first look at the new season of The Witcher following Henry Cavill’s departure from the show, and the responses are all but excited. Many of the fans who remained even after season 3 exited stage left after the atrocious Blood Origin prequel series that completely destroyed the true lore of the Witcher franchise. You can see the first look at The Witcher season 4 below:
After it was announced that Liam Hemsworth would be replacing Henry Cavill for season 4, there was a very lackluster reaction. The role of Geralt, to many, was best portrayed by Cavill, who is a longtime fan of The Witcher himself, therefore, Hemsworth has QUITE the shoes to fill—for however long the show remains on the air, that is.
As a fan myself, I have my biases and will not be watching this new season, but I do hope that Liam will portray this iconic character to the best of his abilities (even with what little talent the writer’s room has).
Now, I open the floor to you, readers. What are your thoughts on this new Witcher? Do you think Hemsworth will do the role of Geralt justice, or will it be an utter insult to the character? And, most pressing of all, how long do you believe the series will continue? Leave a comment down below!
Season 2 was already so trash I stopped wasting my time and just played Witcher 3 instead.
Doesn’t matter which actor when the writers are so shit and the producers care more about activism than lore, it’s doomed to fail.
The Witcher was already just a side character in this show, to make room for all the sorceresses.
Which is why it SUCKED.
Everybody wanted a monster-of-the-week show, where we follow Geralt traveling around and fighting mysterious monsters.
Instead we got a disjointed soap opera with the worst DEI miscasts ever.
Unbelievable how stupid Laura Hissrich and all these activists in show business are.
Looks good in character, but we are shown nothing here.
As for biases, there is a clear bias against Henry Cavill. Not sure why.
