Gina Carano Takes on Mark Hamill Over Trump Lie

The attempted assassination of President Donald Trump – and the murder of a rally attendee – have brought out the ire of one side of the political aisle… but not the side you’d think. The left have been attacking in full force, and one of the most prominent examples is a premier Force user, Mark Hamill. Yesterday, I wrote about the appalling way Hamill and others have been behaving on social media in the wake of the shooting, and I’m far from the only one who noticed. Another, more recent Star Wars vet, Gina Carano, called out another of Mark Hamill’s jabs at the President who was almost killed on Saturday. Hamill’s post was about Trump closing his eyes during the Republican National Convention, which he said was Trump sleeping:

Cute. However, Hamill is either mistaken or lying; President Trump is not sleeping but closing his eyes as Reverend James Roemke leads the convention in prayer:

Gina Carano was having none of that:

Carano is right in highlighting something everyone has seen over the last few days if they’ve been paying any attention to social media: despite an assassination attempt that wounded a President and killed an innocent man (who, as Carano points out, was protecting his family), people like Hamill have been attacking and mocking Trump and his supporters, their claptrap about “toning down the rhetoric” nothing but cover for the same onslaught of hate they’d been firing since a certain escalator descent almost a decade ago.

But her post, while seeming to be about Hamill, actually turns towards Disney and Lucasfilm, whom Carano is suing for defamation and wrongful termination. As she points out, Hamill is another Star Wars actor who has never shied away from political rants and posts targeted at half of the country, yet no one at Disney/Lucasfilm said a word about it. When Carano responded to Jack Black’s silence (and tacit agreement) when his Tenacious D bandmate, Kyle Gass, made “Don’t miss Trump next time” his birthday wish during a concert (for which they’ve since apologized), she wondered if Disney or Lucasfilm would denounce the incident; the same can be asked of Hamill’s post-shooting X posts, one mocking Trump over his wound from the assassin’s bullet.

Both of these instances are much worse than even the most strained interpretation of Gina Carano’s shared quote, but no one doubts Disney is fine with them. While, like Jack Black, who was a guest star on one episode of The Mandalorian, Hamill is not currently working for Disney and Lucasfilm (at least not that we know of), Carano’s charge of defamation is strengthened by Disney’s unwillingness to rebuke their speech as they did Carano’s. And I’m positive that Carano and her lawyers are documenting them and Disney’s lack of a response for her lawsuit. In fact, Carano confirms in this post that they’ve been collecting the politically charged statements Hamill has made over the years. Every drop of hate people like Hamill pour onto social media is fueling Gina Carano’s case against Disney. Sometimes, justice is poetic that way.

Yeah, that would be like saying, tone down the rhetoric and then, making a poor taste joke about how Kyle Gass decided to Gass Jack Black. It’s uncalled for.

Mark Hamill has become somewhat of a lunatic and is borderline OCD with his politics. This is the case when the ivory tower types like him become out of touch with the reality of boots on the ground in the USA. I was listening to AnaThatStarWarsGirl talk about the heavy cost of her having her baby in California, but she said it would be free is she snuck across the border. Merely one example of how the rich and privileged just do not understand the double standards and how are are not treated with the same rules.

I liked that priest. His prayers were strong and his impression was charming and funny. The RNC is some kind of interfaith thing now though.

One thing about Trump is he really knows how to throw events. For a candidate to be able to voluntarily draw of 10,000 people in almost any market is really special.

Yeah, it’s been really good this year. The speakers are all sort of the Trump side of the Republican party, so the speeches have been excellent.

It’s sad to see what’s become of Mark Hamill, or I guess what he’s always been but was able to keep private. “Don’t meet your heroes” has become more relevant than ever in the past several years.
