It’s never too early to start planning for Halloween! Halloween is a huge deal at Universal Orlando, and after having to severely modify the celebrations last year, they definitely will be making up for lost time this year with the FULL return of Halloween Horror Nights for its 30th anniversary!
Beginning September 3rd on select nights, HHN is pulling out all the stops to make up for being massively reduced last year. With no need for social distancing, restricted capacity, or masks, the plan is to scare the absolute bajeebus out of everyone, so make sure to wear your brown pants!
Announcements for HHN30 started rolling in last week, with the reveal of the return of a fan-favorite Jack the Clown. Jack will be infiltrating not only the parks but the Cabana Bay Beach Resort hotel as well, although details on that have been hush-hush. The official HHN Twitter account also teased that Jack is going to be popping up in all kinds of places around the resort this year, so be sure to keep your eyes peeled.

Haunted houses are also coming back (we’re hearing there will be a whopping TEN houses this year!!!!), but this time, there will be no social distancing and no plexiglass barriers. The only house announced so far is the Beetlejuice house, which HHN fans will remember from last year; it was a surprise house that opened only on Halloween weekend and got rave reviews, so it’s good that it’ll be coming back for those that missed it.
Themed food, drinks, and merchandise will also be returning this year. At the time of this writing, there hasn’t been any information on what any of that will look like, with the exception of a Jack the Clown shirt that is already available in the parks for $28 and a Horror Icons-themed bar at the Swizzle Bar in the lobby of Cabana Bay Beach Resort. Based on the success of last year’s, we’re also expecting the return of the HHN Tribute Store as well.
Also, as in previous years, UO Premier Passholders get ONE free ticket included with their pass (only on specific dates: Sept. 9, 10, 11, 12, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 22, 23, 29, 30, and Oct. 6, 13, 20, 26, & 27).
We’re anticipating a lot of news dropping over the next couple of months, so be sure to stay tuned because we’ll have them all right here for you.
The Halloween Horror Nights event runs September 3rd through October 31st on SELECT nights, so be sure to check the calendar on the Universal HHN website.
Tickets are on sale NOW, starting at $70.99.
