The campaign for Isom #1, the first issue of Eric July’s Rippaverse Comics, was a massive success, generating over $3 million in sales. Today was the beginning of the second issue’s campaign, and it’s following a similar trajectory. As of this writing, Isom #2 has accrued $763,643 in sales, more than doubling its $350,000 campaign goal. Numbers like that mean people were happy with Isom #1, and they’re coming back for more.

As with the first issue, Isom #2 is written by Eric July, with art by Cliff Richards, coloring by Gabe Eltaeb, and lettering by Eric Weathers. The campaign features Isom #2 with several variant covers, including ones from Ternion and former DC Comics artist Ethan Van Sciver (himself an indie comic creator) for $35 each, and a foil-treated cover by Shane Davis (Superman: Earth One) that goes for $100. There are also signed and graded copies of Isom #2 with the first two covers, as well as t-shirts and other Isom merchandise. You can see a trailer for Isom #2 below:
But The Rippaverse isn’t all about Isom; Eric July recently announced that Sylvia and Jen Soska, known together as The Soska Sisters, will be writing the first issue of Yaira, the second Rippaverse superhero to get her own book. July was singing their praises when they wrote the Black Widow miniseries “No Restraints Play,” chastising Marvel for only giving them a limited series instead of putting them in charge of Black Widow full-stop. That he sought out The Soska Sisters to help him build The Rippaverse is excellent and shows that he’s seeking out legitimate talent to make his universe the best it can be.
If you’re interested in pre-ordering Isom #2, you may have to refresh the page; it’s been crashing all day because of the massive support it’s receiving. (Eric July and his team are working out technical issues as they arise, so hang in there!) And if you haven’t gotten it yet, there’s no need to miss out; you can still purchase a copy of Isom #1.
