Following John Boyega’s softening towards Star Wars and the announcement of a new film starring Rey, John Rocha, host of the podcast The Hot Mic, has heard from sources that Boyega may be the male lead of the movie. On this week’s episode of the entertainment podcast, Jeff Sneider filled in some details about the Rey movie: Damon Lindelof’s original script for the movie featured a character with another actor attached to the role – Sneider guesses Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, who worked on Lindelof’s Watchmen HBO series – but now that Lindelof and co-writer Justin Britt-Gibson have left the project and the script is being rewritten by Steven Knight, the part no longer exists. Rocha then shared that sources who have been accurate in the past told him Boyega “will be coming back for this movie.” Many claims and predictions provided by both Rocha and Sneider on The Hot Mic have proven true, granting credence to rumors like this. Boyega’s recent change of heart also points to such an appearance in Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy’s film.
Personally, I don’t care who they cast or what the story is. I’m not interested in this film because of its ties to the sequel trilogy. Rey is stealing Luke’s legacy, and I’m not about to support it financially or in any other capacity. I’m glad for Boyega that he’s “at peace” with Star Wars now; I never fault actors for taking a role. We all need to eat. But I’m not looking forward to this at all.

I want a Rose Tico disney+ series, where her parents are disappointed she’s not a doctor or a lawyer, and she ends up becoming the vessel for Palpatine. Oh no wait…..no I don’t
