The Boogeyman is back, and it looks like there’ll be hell to pay. Lionsgate has released the first trailer for the highly anticipated John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum. The third in the exhilarating action movie series, Parabellum finds legendary hitman John Wick on the run from the society of assassins to which he once belonged, trading bullets with his former comrades across the globe (from the looks of things). Keanu Reeves returns as the dog-loving contract killer, along with series stalwarts Ian McShane and Lance Reddick, and Chapter 2’s Laurence Fishburne. Joining the fun this time are Halle Berry, Angelica Huston, Mark Dacascos, Jason Mantzoukas, Jerome Flynn and Robin Lord Taylor. Directed once again by Chad Stahelski, John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum opens in theaters on May 17, 2019. Check out the John Wick: Chapter 3 trailer below…
This is something I think will get everyone excited. It hasn’t actually been that long since Chapter 2, but it still feels like it’s taken forever to see John Wick return (perhaps due to the way the last one ended). The John Wick: Chapter 3 trailer is just the right tease, too; it gives us a good idea of what to expect from the movie – action, and lots of it – without revealing too much. Halle Berry seems to be playing an ally of his (replete with her own dog, who joins Wick’s in getting in on the action!), and Angelica Huston – good God, Angelica Huston is in this movie! – is likely some underworld bigwig. As for everyone else, it’s hard to tell who’s friend and who’s foe, particularly considering the predicament in which Baba Yaga finds himself. For example, Ian McShane helped Wick in the last two movies, but will he be able to continue watching his buddy’s back or will they now be forced to bury their friendship and fight to the death? It could go either way, and both prospects are tantalizing. Reeves and Stahelski recently indicated that they intend to keep making these movies, so Parabellum probably won’t be the end of the road for Wick (which is good news; we’re in an era now where a trilogy feels like thinking small), but if the John Wick: Chapter 3 trailer is any indication, it’ll feel just as epic as a franchise capper.
