After the release of 2017’s Kingsman: The Golden Circle, it was unclear when we could expect the next entry in the series, especially after the divisiveness of the sequel. It was later announced that 20th Century Fox was developing not one, but three films set within the Kingsman universe. We now have a release date for one of those, the third film in the Kingsman trilogy; Kingsman 3 is slated to release on November 8th, 2019, with writer/director Matthew Vaughn returning to the director’s chair and writing the film. The fact that they’re continuing the franchise isn’t too surprising, as both films were quite financially successful, even if Golden Circle made less than the first.
I’m incredibly excited by this news, as I adored the first Kingsman (which firmly sits in my top 25 comic book films, and also happens to be one of the best action films of the past half decade), and quite enjoyed its more bloated and overly-ambitious sequel. I’m also delighted to hear that Vaughn is returning, as his sense of style and action filmmaking propels these films so strongly.
