According to Deadline, Laurence Fishburne will play fan-favorite character Emiel Regis in The Witcher’s upcoming fourth season. Regis is described as “a world-wise Barber-surgeon with a mysterious past.” This season will also see Liam Hemsworth (The Hunger Games) take up the role of Geralt, which was previously played by Henry Cavill. Following the end of season 3 and Cavill’s departure, season 4 will see Ciri, Geralt, and Yennefer struggle to reunite. Check out what Laurence Fishburne has to say about his new role on the Netflix series here:
“I’m very excited to be joining the cast and look forward to exploring the wondrous world of The Witcher,” said Fishburne.
I haven’t seen season 3 of The Witcher, and I most likely won’t watch season 4 either. I was annoyed with the show losing Henry Cavill; he and Anya Chalotra’s Yennefer were the only reason to watch The Witcher. I like Laurence Fishburne, and I’m sure he’ll be good, but even before Cavill left, season 2 was hot garbage. I hope the show improves for the sake of fans of the games and books, but I seriously doubt it.
