Manchester City have the chance to claim a coveted treble, as they face fellow brits, Chelsea, in the UEFA Champions League Final at the end of this month. They also won the domestic Carabao Cup earlier this season, giving them two pieces of silverware to shine already.
Along the way, Manchester City broke Premier League records this season as they explain, “The advent of 2021 saw City establish a new Premier League record for the longest sequence of wins from the start of a calendar year thanks to the 13 league victories we chalked up between January 3 and March 2 of this year.
“City also equalled the Premier League record of 19 for the longest run of games without going behind.”
Their performance in Europe has also been a standout for the club, establishing a dominant unbeaten run. “Tuesday’s 2-0 win at home to Paris Saint-Germain means we are on our longest unbeaten run in the UEFA Champions League having gone 12 games unbeaten between 21 October, 2020 and 4 May, 2021.
“It also saw us set a new record for the longest winning run by an English side in Europe’s elite club competition (7).”
It’s all down to the biggest game of the season, the Champions League Final, to see if Manchester City will be crowned champions of Europe as well as champions of England.
Chelsea is getting hot at the right moment to win the Champions. Chelsea taking home the FA and UCL is better season then Man city Carabao and EPL titles
