Max Harry Potter Series Casting Call Announced

Max has announced an opening casting call for the upcoming Harry Potter series, set to air in 2026. According to Variety, children who will be ages nine to eleven in April of 2025 are eligible and must be residents of the U.K. The call also states that they are “committed to inclusive, diverse casting.” In this day and age, those words ring with a resounding groan from most fans. If what we are to expect from this show is similar to that of The Cursed Child, this may have the stench of DEI all over it.

“We are committed to inclusive, diverse casting… For every role, please submit qualified performers, without regard to ethnicity, sex, disability, race, sexual orientation, gender identity, or any other basis protected by law unless otherwise specifically indicated.”

The application also requires the actors to submit a short video of a “poem, monologue or something you’ve created,” but nothing from Harry Potter is permitted in the submission.

“Please prepare a short poem or story of your choosing. It can be from your favorite book, a poem that you love, a monologue from a play or something you’ve created yourself. Please, nothing from ‘Harry Potter’. Please use your own accent. 30 seconds maximum!” the casting call states and second self-tape is “a short video telling us a bit about yourself, including your date of birth, height and where you live. In addition, please describe any family member, friend or pet that you are particularly close to. Please use your own accent. One minute maximum.”

The cut-off date for this casting call is October 31st, and the series will film in the United Kingdom during 2025-2026. No official release date has been announced, yet Warner Bros Discovery CEO David Zaslav stays firm on the 2026 release.

Francesca Gardiner, who produced the shows Succession, His Dark Materials, and Killing Eve, will run and executive produce the Potter series, and Mark Mylod, also from Succession, will executive produce and direct multiple episodes. The show is expected to run for seven seasons, with each adapting one of the books in J.K. Rowling’s series.

There is certainly cause for concern based on the wording of this casting call. It seems some fans remain hopeful, while others (such as myself) harbor no hope at all for a fully faithful adaption of this beloved IP. Who could blame most fans, though? In modern-day Hollywood, there is much lack for true talent, particularly in writing anything original; therefore, they must always go back to established works and completely rewrite them “for a modern audience.”

Any time one hears of a reboot of an old franchise, particularly within the last couple years, there is a great sense of dread, even if, in this case, the author herself is heavily involved. Yes, J.K. Rowling knows the differences between a man and woman, and rightfully so, but that does not stop her from allowing Hermione to be black again, as she was in The Cursed Child, or even to make the Weasley’s black—for it would appear Hollywood is on a “ginger genocide” with many older characters; Ariel from The Little Mermaid, April O’Neil from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are examples. And overall, with the total desecration of prominent Lord of the Rings characters in the abomination of a show, The Rings of Power, it would not be a shock should the same occur here, even with previous adaptations of the Harry Potter series slowly infected by Hollywood “box checking.”

Now, the floor is open to you, dear readers. What are your thoughts on this announcement? Do you remain hopeful for the Harry Potter TV show, or has any prospect of hope evaporated? Please let us know (respectfully) in the comments below!

Whenever you hear the trance words of the NPC in the New Age cult, you know it’s going to suck. When people use libtard language, they get that stuff from New Age cults.

One example is, let’s connect or thanks for letting me connect with you. Or anyone who says “Diversity is Our strength.” There are many examples of double think and double speak but the end result is failure.

Also, the lesson for the weak-willed person who just wants peace, unity and harmony is that, you might not have a problem with them, but they do have a problem with you. You see this in media coverup of crime, admissions, hiring, in fact, they just used this stuff to break down the civilian populations to replace them and, if you notice or object, they just play the race card. It’s become routine and cliche’ at this point.

Until playing the race card results in blowback, things will just get worse in every western country.
